Master's in Healthcare Management and Leadership

The Master's in Healthcare Management and Leadership (MML) is designed to provide healthcare professionals with the tools to drive innovation, enhance care quality, and improve patient outcomes. Muhlenberg's Master's in Healthcare Management and Leadership cultivates future leaders who will spearhead the transformation of the U.S. healthcare system.

10 Courses, 8 weeks each

The program consists of 10 courses, each eight weeks long. Students can anticipate completing the program in 24 months. The program is anchored by an on-campus learning experience during the fall and spring semesters.

Cost of Tuition

The cost of each course in the master's in healthcare management and leadership program is $3,400, bringing the total cost to $34,000. We offer several scholarships, and tuition includes all books, materials, and fees. Employer partnerships that provide scholarship discounts for employees are available.

Executive Format

All classes are virtual, and each fall and spring semester is anchored by a two-day symposium featuring special guest speakers, in-depth and hands-on learning, and networking opportunities.

Dedicated Mentors

You will be assigned a dedicated program advisor to help you stay on track and navigate college services. A faculty mentor will work with you through your final year, leading to your capstone project.

The master’s in healthcare management and leadership (MML) program prepares you to drive innovation, ensure quality access to care and improve patient outcomes. We are training the future leaders who will lead the transformation of the US healthcare system.

Designed for a wide range of healthcare professionals including physicians, clinicians, nurses, hospital and practice administrators, individuals from health plans, pharmaceutical companies, PBMs, health management firms, consultancy and technology organizations and more.
You will gain an in-depth understanding of the structure, operations and financing of the U.S. health care system while developing your personal leadership identity. You’ll also build a valuable network of peers and faculty, across hospitals, health plans, medical technology firms, physician groups, pharmaceutical and advisory organizations and more, opening doors to new career opportunities and lasting professional connections.

Participant Profile

Our program is comprehensive and inclusive, providing training in organizational leadership, solutions and systems development and operations management to a wide range of healthcare professionals, including physicians, clinicians, nurses, industry leaders, allied health professionals, and administrators.

With this program, students will develop an in-depth understanding of the breadth of the health care system and gain the skills and knowledge they need to lead teams, optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of their organizations, and enhance the patient experience and outcomes as they progress in their careers.

The program is designed to develop business skills to take on leadership and administrative positions while advancing students' careers and increasing their competitiveness for leadership roles. Applicants should have an advanced degree and have at least two years of healthcare experience or requisite work experience. Applicants without an advanced degree should have five years of clinical operations experience.

Learning Outcomes

During the program, students will develop their understanding of strong and ethical management and leadership practices and develop and enhance their systemic knowledge of healthcare delivery in organizations, markets, and policies.

Effectively serve diverse communities and colleagues using ethical, equitable, and inclusive practices
Demonstrate understanding of public health, public policy, and economic influences on healthcare delivery
Provide project planning, risk management, and project control by identifying the successive stages of project design within the healthcare environment
Develop a personal plan to become an effective leader in a healthcare setting
Demonstrate knowledge in finance, operations, marketing and information technology used in health care delivery
Demonstrate understanding of health care laws and regulations,
and interpret and analyze them with ethical leadership principles
